Fans of superheroes, sci-fi, teen drama, emotional trauma, revenge, and robots - this adventure anthology is for you.

I’m excited to launch my newest book, Eric Icarus: Mythos, an action-packed four-part collection of short story prequels. The world of Unsecret Identity and Unsecret Origin keeps expanding and reaching new heights. As the series developed, the characters and their unique histories grew to where there was more lore to explore.

This set of “untold tales” can be read as standalone stories though they do all connect. You do not need to read Eric Icarus Books One or Two since Mythos takes place before those events.

Synopses:

Years before the rise of Eric Icarus, these are untold tales of dangerous secrets, fractured heroes, and the buried history of the Super Society, the legendary defenders of New St. Cloud City.

THE SUPERVILLAIN’S OATH: For the first time in print! Teenage sidekick Sidebar has been training under Judge Justice, the leader of the Super Society, and is itching for action. Sidebar gets more than he bargained for when he is face-to-face with one of the team’s deadliest villains.

Separated only by a pane of glass, the young superhero must look pure evil in its eye - or in the case of the dangerous villain Hotwire, an eerie faceless abyss. Can the heroes foil the criminal mastermind’s chaotic scheme, or will the city’s greatest defenders go to an extreme they must keep hidden for generations to come?

LEAGUES: Ex-hero Nick infiltrates a storm-hidden ocean outpost and finds his former teammate Thais and her billionaire husband running secret experiments with mysterious pods. When a vengeful intruder takes over and captures them, Nick realizes the true threat lies within the pods themselves.

AVENGE HER: For the first time in print! On the day of a weapons demonstration of an advanced set of cybernetic armor, fame-craving scientist David Boxworth expects his invention to set him for life. After a disastrous accident, David’s life spirals into darkness, leaving him questioning his city’s heroes and taking fate into his own hands.

ALTERED EGO: Trainee hero Jaycee is forced to team up with snobby newcomer Tiffany for a mission in an abandoned lab. When a malfunctioning hologram of Laser Lass-an original Super Society legend-triggers a deadly security lockdown, the building turns against them. Trapped and under attack, the rivals must work together to escape.

My TV and movie blog, Def Rec, will still continue and evolve via perpetual trial and error. Ultimately, it is an entertainment recommendation blog, and while there will be reviews, it is more of a celebration of the best weird things about film and television shows. As a pop culture-based publication, Def Rec can best be described as The Onion meets Rotten Tomatoes. I’ve been fortunate to indulge in offering oddball observations and it’s been a blast to write about intriguing - and sometimes just plain bizarre - tropes. Ratings, rankings, and ridiculousness will carry on as Def Rec goes on to find its way to give structure to the inherent chaos I bring to it.

DEF REC: The Worst (Best?) of Jared Leto

  Top Three Over the Top Performances For over the top performances and being kind of a weird dude in general, it could only be Jared. Mr. Leto has graced screens from an early age, delivering characters that range from young and in a fight club to finding infinite possibilities as *a* Nemo. Mr. Nobody (2009) is, in a word, trippy. Fight Club (1999) is a classic. But what are Jared Leto’s roles that stand out as the absolute craziest, most out there, and unexpected choices? Urban Legend (1998) may indeed be legendary (depending on who you ask), and Requiem For A Dream (2000) is critically acclaimed, but I’m talking about big swings that leave you questioning Leto’s sanity.
